【系所英文活動補助】115年4月17日-6月26日 CSMU x UOM墨爾本大學_跨域學習 碩士班國際學術交流工作坊
一、活動重點及目的:
本活動以全英語授課(EMI)及跨專業合作為核心,結合護理學、物理治療、視光學及語言治療與聽力學等專業領域,探討糖尿病、中風及全球健康等重要公共衛生議題。透過國內外教師共同授課、案例導向學習、小組討論及專題發表,引導學生從不同專業角度分析健康議題,培養跨領域整合、實證導向思考及團隊合作能力。同時透過全英語學習與互動,提升學生英語專業表達及跨文化溝通能力,拓展國際視野,培養其參與國際醫療合作與全球健康議題之能力。
This activity focused on English as a Medium of Instruction (EMI) and interprofessional collaboration, integrating knowledge from nursing, physical therapy, optometry, and speech-language pathology and audiology to explore important public health issues such as diabetes, stroke, and global health. Through collaborative teaching by domestic and international instructors, case-based learning, group discussions, and presentations, students were encouraged to examine health issues from different professional perspectives and develop their interdisciplinary integration, evidence-based thinking, and teamwork skills. Through English-medium learning and interaction, the activity also aimed to enhance students’ professional English communication and cross-cultural communication skills, broaden their international perspectives, and prepare them for participation in international healthcare collaboration and global health initiatives.
二、活動特色及執行情形:
本活動共9週課程,邀請國內外具專業背景之教師共同授課,以全英語方式進行,課程內容涵蓋全球健康概論、慢性病管理、復健與功能恢復、視覺健康、語言與吞嚥障礙,以及跨專業整合照護等主題。教學方式多元,包含專題講授、案例分析、問題導向學習(PBL)、小組討論及成果發表,並安排學生以英語進行課堂互動、跨專業合作及口頭報告。
本次活動共有9位學生參與,學生來自物理治療、語言治療與聽力學、護理及視光等不同專業領域。課程問卷回饋顯示,學生普遍肯定全英語及跨領域的學習模式,認為課程有助於提升英語溝通信心、增進對不同醫療專業角色及合作模式的理解,並拓展國際視野與跨文化互動經驗。學生亦建議未來可於課前提供相關教材,並增加小組討論及跨專業互動時間,以提升學習成效。
The activity consisted of a 9-week course, jointly taught by domestic and international instructors with professional expertise and conducted entirely in English. Course topics included an introduction to global health, chronic disease management, rehabilitation and functional recovery, visual health, communication and swallowing disorders, and interprofessional integrated care. A variety of teaching methods were adopted, including lectures, case analysis, Problem-Based Learning (PBL), group discussions, and presentations. Students were also encouraged to participate in classroom interactions, engage in interprofessional collaboration, and deliver oral presentations in English.
A total of 9 students participated in the activity, representing different professional fields, including physical therapy, speech-language pathology and audiology, nursing, and optometry. Questionnaire feedback indicated that students generally responded positively to the English-medium and interdisciplinary learning approach. They reported that the course helped enhance their confidence in English communication, deepen their understanding of different healthcare professions and interprofessional collaboration, and broaden their international perspectives and cross-cultural interaction experiences. Students also suggested providing relevant learning materials before class and increasing opportunities for group discussions and interprofessional interaction in future courses to further enhance learning outcomes.
