I still remember the beginning of this semester, when several vendors set up stalls on our campus. During the break time, the square was filled with students happily shopping and chatting with their friends. I really enjoyed watching that lively and vibrant scene. Through my painting, I wanted to capture that joyful atmosphere and share it with others — so that everyone can feel the same warmth and happiness I felt in that moment.

Lived in the darkness, yet the light from the university guided my way. I stumbled through restless nights and heavy days, searching for meaning, uncertain of who I’m becoming. Slowly, through voices that listened and hands that held, I began to see myself more clearly—from confusion to clarity, from vague to steady. Along the way, I met kind souls who made me brave to speak, to share, to show who I truly am. Through their warmth, I found a sense of kindness, and through the counselor’s guidance, I learned to untangle my anxious, to understand where I stand and to admit where I wish to go. Though I still wrestle with distractions, and the online world at times pulls way too strong, I am no longer lost without direction. I’m deeply grateful to those who reminded me to stay grounded, who cared enough to worry, to guide, to believe in me. Because of them, I see how many doors surround me, how many chances are waiting to be taken. I still wander, still question, still feel the ache of growing—but no longer alone in pain.

I chose to depict the scene in front of the underground parking lot at Chung Shan Medical University — a place every scooter rider knows too well. It’s always a little chaotic, with students weaving between cars, pedestrians hurrying along, and the occasional scooter trying to squeeze through tight spaces. This painting humorously captures that every day “battlefield,” highlighting not just the minor frustrations, but also the energy, spontaneity, and camaraderie that make campus life so vibrant. Despite the irony and playful exaggeration, it reflects a sense of belonging, shared experience, and the unique rhythm that makes our university unforgettable. Through this work, I hope to show that even in small, seemingly ordinary corners of campus, there is a story, a little adventure, and a memory worth cherishing.

A classmate left a comment, asking to see the finished work, and from that simple moment, our story began. We talked, we laughed, and his presence painted my university life with warmth and joy. Now he has left, and I am about to graduate. Looking back, I realize that sketch was never truly finished. It is only now, after all the years, that I am ready to add color—each stroke a reflection of the memories, encounters, and emotions that made my time at Chung Shan Medical University so unforgettable.

Since my first year at Chung Shan Medical University, I’ve been a member of my department’s girl volleyball team. From admiring the plays of my seniors on the court, to finally play in matches myself, every moment has been a precious experience. Each ball we hit may last only a second, but when we accumulate these brief moments, they can form unforgettable memories. Over the past four years, I experienced lots of joyful moments at the multi-purpose stadium. That’s why I want to capture this brilliant “moment” and turn it into my treasured memory!
