一、活動重點及目的：
教務處EMI中心很榮幸獲得美國國務院(U.S. Departmnt of State)經費補助，協同美國在台協會(AIT)與EMI教學動能跨校社群一同舉辦EMI教師培訓課程(E.L. Program)，本次培訓由Missouri Western State University, Department of Education 系主任 Dr. Adrienne Johnson 親自線上講授。

The EMI Center of the Office of Academic Affairs is honored to receive funding from the U.S. Department of State, in collaboration with the American Institute in Taiwan (AIT) and the EMI Teaching Dynamics Cross-School Community, to organize the EMI Teacher Training Program (E.L. Program). This training is conducted online by Dr. Adrienne Johnson, Chair of the Department of Education at Missouri Western State University.
二、活動特色及執行情形：
AIT ELS 計畫主要在協助中山醫學大學從事EMI教學的教師，培養有效教授專業英文課程所需的技能與教學方法。此12小時課程主要針對醫學、健康管理與外語等領域的專業教師設計，共分為六個單元。課程涵蓋多項重要主題，包括：非英語母語教師的英語教學準備、EMI專屬教學策略、科技與人工智慧工具的運用、課程管理以及成本效益的考量。參與的教師需根據自身專業領域設計一份詳細的EMI課程大綱，並具備將其實際應用於教學現場的能力。

The AIT ELS program is designed to assist faculty at Chung Shan Medical University who are involved in EMI teaching, helping them develop the necessary skills and teaching methods to effectively teach professional English courses. This 12-hour course is primarily tailored for faculty in fields such as medicine, health management, and foreign languages, and is divided into six modules. The course covers several important topics, including: English teaching preparation for non-native English-speaking teachers, EMI-specific teaching strategies, the use of technology and AI tools, course management, and cost-effectiveness considerations. Participating teachers are required to design a detailed EMI course syllabus based on their professional field and demonstrate the ability to apply it in a real teaching environment.
