EMI開課申請流程

一、【開課教師條件】本校專(案)任教師取得本校教務處EMI中心舉辦之EMI師培課程並獲得完訓證明者。

二、【開課申請流程】 系所開設全英文課程申請-->課程委員會三級三審-->EMI中心收到全英課程審查通過名單-->檢核英文課程屬性(EGP, ESP, EAP, EMI)，屬性為EMI之課程送交【全英文課程推動暨諮詢委員會】審查-->通過審查之課程由EMI中心主動通知填寫EMI課程申請表格補件。

三、全英課程教學時數以1.5倍計算。獲通過之EMI課程若有需要另外申請EMI開課獎勵，則須另外填寫【EMI教學檢核表】，並依照【中山醫學大學EMI課程認證與品質追蹤實施要點】進行課程資料繳交與預約成果發表時間(教學分享，課程結束後2個學期內完成)。 成果發表結束後才會提案【全英文課程推動暨諮詢委員會】進行獎勵金審議(每學年末)。每位教師每門課可申請1次，一學年不超過2門課。

四、以上獎勵由教育部【大專院校學生雙語化學習計畫】支付。

伍、必修之全英文課程需要有對開之中文課方可申請為EMI課程，若是在系所課程地圖與學生入學前即註記為全英文之必修課程則不在此限。

六、此獎勵為漸進式鼓勵性質，現階段114學年度獎助對象為大學部EMI選修課之開課教師。若有擴大獎勵對象會在最新消息中公告。

Application Process for Offering EMI courses

I. Instructor Eligibility
Full-time faculty members, including project based faculty, who have completed the EMI teacher training program organized by the EMI Center under the Office of Academic Affairs and have obtained a certificate of completion.

II. Course Application Procedure
Departments submit applications to offer courses taught fully in English. --> The applications shall undergo three-levels of review by the curriculum committee. --> The EMI Center receives the list of approved English-medium courses. --> The Center verifies the course type (EGP, ESP, EAP, EMI). Courses identified as EMI are forwarded to the English-Medium Instruction Promotion and Advisory Committee for review. --> Once approved, the EMI Center will notify instructors to submit additional documents via the EMI Course Application Form.

III. Teaching hours for courses taught fully in English shall be calculated at 1.5 times the standard rate. If an approved EMI course requires an additional EMI teaching incentive application, the instructor must complete the EMI Teaching Checklist. Course materials must be submitted and a teaching presentation (within two semesters after the course ends) must be scheduled according to CSMU's EMI Certification and Quality Assurance Guidelines. Only after the presentation is completed will the course be submitted to the EMI Promotion and Advisory Committee for incentive review (at the end of each academic year). Each instructor may apply once per course, with a maximum of two courses per academic year.

IV. These incentives are funded by the Ministry of Education's BEST Program (Bilingual Education for Students in Colleges).

V. A compulsory fully English-taught course must have a parallel Chinese-taught version to qualify as an EMI course. This requirement does not apply to compulsory English-medium courses already designated as such in the curriculum map before students enroll.

VI. This incentive is progressive in nature and is intended to encourage phased participation. In academic year 112 the incentive applies to instructors teaching undergraduate elective EMI courses. Any expansion of eligible recipients will be announced in future updates.
