一、活動重點及目的：

本次「醫護學術英文寫作－基礎班」由知識樹文教顧問有限公司 James 外師授課，課程以建立學生學術英文寫作基礎能力為核心，從正式書面語、醫學專業詞彙、句子結構及文章組織等面向，循序漸進培養學生的學術寫作能力。
課程內容包含正式書面語的使用、口語化表達與學術用語的轉換、醫學專業詞彙之字首（prefix）、字根（root）及字尾（suffix）分析，以及連接詞、修飾語與句型組織等寫作技巧。透過系統化的學習與實作，引導學生提升英文表達的精確性、專業性及邏輯性，為未來撰寫學術報告、研究論文及醫療相關專業文件奠定基礎。

The Medical and Healthcare Academic English Writing – Foundation Course was taught by James, an international instructor from Knowledge Tree Education Consulting Co., Ltd. The course focused on building students’ foundational academic English writing skills through a systematic approach covering formal written language, medical terminology, sentence structure, and academic organization.

Course content included the use of formal written language, transforming informal expressions into academic language, analyzing medical terminology through prefixes, roots, and suffixes, and applying linking words, modifiers, and sentence structures. Through systematic instruction and hands-on practice, students were guided to improve the accuracy, professionalism, and logical organization of their English writing, laying a solid foundation for future academic reports, research papers, and professional healthcare documents.

二、活動特色及執行情形：

本次基礎班共辦理4堂課程，採講授、範例分析、句型練習及實作活動等方式進行，並依循「字彙 → 句子 → 段落 → 文章組織」的學習脈絡，逐步強化學生的學術英文寫作能力。
課程首先從正式書面語與學術用語的概念出發，透過實際例句引導學生辨識口語化表達，並運用同義詞替換及字彙升級技巧，將日常用語轉換為較正式且符合學術情境的表達方式。接著介紹醫學專業詞彙的組成結構，透過字首、字根及字尾的拆解，協助學生掌握醫學單字的形成規則，並培養利用字源推測陌生詞彙意義的能力。
在句子與文章組織方面，課程進一步介紹連接詞及修飾語的運用，透過句型改寫與範例分析，協助學生提升句子的完整性、精確度及正式程度；並延伸至段落組織與文章邏輯，引導學生運用適當的連接詞串聯句子與段落，建立清楚且具連貫性的論述架構。
課堂中搭配實際練習與討論，讓學生即時應用所學之字彙及寫作技巧，並透過教師回饋進行修正與優化。整體課程由基礎概念逐步延伸至實際寫作應用，協助學生建立學術英文寫作的基本能力，並增進其閱讀醫學文獻及撰寫學術文章時的理解與表達能力。

The Foundation Course consisted of four sessions and incorporated lectures, example analysis, sentence-building exercises, and hands-on writing activities. The course followed a progressive learning sequence of “Vocabulary → Sentences → Paragraphs → Academic Organization” to gradually strengthen students’ academic English writing skills.

The course began with the concepts of formal written language and academic vocabulary. Through practical examples, students learned to identify informal expressions and transform them into more formal and academically appropriate language using synonym substitution and vocabulary enhancement techniques. Students were then introduced to the structure of medical terminology by analyzing prefixes, roots, and suffixes, helping them understand word formation and develop strategies for inferring the meanings of unfamiliar medical terms.

In terms of sentence and academic organization, the course further introduced the use of linking words and modifiers. Through sentence-rewriting exercises and example analysis, students learned to improve the completeness, precision, and formality of their sentences. The course then extended to paragraph organization and logical development, guiding students to use appropriate linking words to connect sentences and paragraphs and build clear and coherent arguments.

The course also incorporated practical exercises and discussions, allowing students to immediately apply the vocabulary and writing techniques they had learned, while receiving instructor feedback for revision and improvement. Overall, the course progressed from fundamental concepts to practical writing applications, helping students establish a solid foundation in academic English writing and enhance their ability to understand medical literature and produce academic writing.
