一、活動重點及目的：
本次工作坊邀請歐揚語言中心 Jeth 講師帶領，以香氛蠟燭製作結合英語溝通與故事創作，打造兼具創意與語言學習的沉浸式體驗。課程透過認識香氛蠟燭的象徵意義、精油香氣搭配原則及英文詞彙應用，引導學生在實作過程中自然使用英語進行交流與表達，並藉由故事書寫活動，培養學生以英文分享個人想法與生活經驗，提升英語口語表達能力、創意思考及跨文化溝通素養。
The workshop was led by Jeth from Oh Young Language Center and combined scented candle making with English communication and creative storytelling to provide an immersive learning experience that integrated creativity with language learning. Through an introduction to the symbolic meanings of scented candles, the principles of essential oil blending, and the application of English vocabulary, students were encouraged to naturally communicate and express themselves in English throughout the hands-on activities. The storytelling component further enabled participants to share their personal thoughts and life experiences in English, thereby enhancing their English speaking skills, creativity, and intercultural communication competence.
二、活動特色及執行情形：
課程首先安排破冰活動，邀請學員以英文介紹自己及分享兩項個人興趣，促進組員間互動並營造輕鬆友善的學習氛圍。接著，講師介紹不同顏色蠟燭所代表的祝福意涵，以及各類精油香氣的特色與調香概念，帶領學員透過聞香體驗認識不同香氛的層次與搭配方式，並依照個人喜好選擇配方，親手製作專屬香氛蠟燭。完成作品後，學員以英文書寫屬於自己的香氛故事，分享蠟燭所承載的祝福與創作理念，將語言學習融入手作體驗。整體活動互動熱絡，學員積極參與討論與實作，不僅提升英語表達的自信，也透過感官體驗與創意創作，加深對英語學習的興趣，充分展現跨領域學習與EMI教學活動的特色。
The workshop began with an icebreaker activity in which participants introduced themselves in English and shared two of their hobbies, fostering interaction among group members and creating a relaxed and welcoming learning environment. The instructor then explained the symbolic meanings of different candle colors, the characteristics of various essential oils, and the fundamentals of fragrance blending. Through a guided scent exploration, participants experienced different fragrance profiles and selected their preferred essential oil recipes before creating their own scented candles. After completing their candles, participants wrote and shared their own English stories inspired by the candles, expressing the wishes and meanings behind their creations while integrating language learning into the hands-on experience. Throughout the workshop, participants actively engaged in discussions and practical activities. The event not only strengthened their confidence in using English but also enhanced their interest in language learning through sensory experiences and creative expression, demonstrating the value of interdisciplinary learning and EMI-inspired instructional activities.
