【學生英語增能】暑假BLS證照課程

一、活動重點及目的:

本次課程邀請台南市緊急救護協會理事長王字熏及王柏元醫師擔任講師,結合醫護專業知識與英語學習,協助學生掌握基本救命術(Basic Life Support, BLS)的核心技能與國際標準急救流程。課程內容涵蓋CPR標準流程、AED操作、緊急止血(止血帶)使用、傷口包紮、異物梗塞處置、哈姆立克法,以及2020年AHA CPR & ECC Guidelines等重要急救知識,並透過英語醫護情境介紹相關專業術語,提升學生在臨床及國際醫療環境中的專業溝通能力。課程最後安排筆試與術科技能測驗,協助學生取得BLS證照,強化其急救應變能力與職涯競爭力。

We invited Mr. Wang Tzu-Hsun, President of the Tainan Emergency Medical Services Association, and Dr. Wang Po-Yuan as guest instructors. The course integrated professional medical knowledge with English learning to equip students with the essential skills and international standards of Basic Life Support (BLS). Course topics included the standard CPR procedure, AED operation, emergency bleeding control using tourniquets, wound bandaging, foreign body airway obstruction management, the Heimlich maneuver, and the 2020 American Heart Association (AHA) CPR & ECC Guidelines. Students were also introduced to medical English terminology and emergency care scenarios, strengthening their ability to communicate effectively in clinical and international healthcare settings. The course concluded with both written and practical examinations, enabling participants to obtain BLS certification while enhancing their emergency response skills and professional competitiveness.

二、活動特色及執行情形:

本次課程採理論講解與實作演練並行的方式進行,講師透過實際示範、案例解析及分組操作,引導學生熟悉各項急救技能的標準流程與操作要點。課程安排CPR、AED操作、止血帶使用、包紮技巧、異物梗塞處置及哈姆立克法等實作練習,讓學生反覆演練並即時獲得講師回饋,加深學習成效。同時,課程融入醫護急救相關英文詞彙及情境應用,培養學生運用英語理解國際急救指引及進行專業溝通的能力。最後透過筆試及術科測驗檢核學生的知識與技能,協助學員順利取得BLS證照。整體課程兼具專業性、實務性與國際化特色,不僅提升學生的緊急救護能力,也增進其醫護英語應用能力,為未來臨床實習及國際交流奠定良好基礎。

The course combined lectures with hands-on practice to provide students with a comprehensive learning experience. Through demonstrations, case-based instruction, and guided practice, the instructors familiarized participants with the standard procedures and key techniques of emergency care. Practical training sessions covered CPR, AED operation, tourniquet application, wound bandaging, foreign body airway obstruction management, and the Heimlich maneuver, allowing students to repeatedly practice each skill and receive immediate feedback from the instructors. Medical English terminology and scenario-based communication were incorporated throughout the course, enabling students to understand international emergency care guidelines and apply English in professional healthcare contexts. Students' knowledge and practical competencies were assessed through written and skills-based examinations, supporting them in obtaining BLS certification. Overall, the course effectively integrated professional training, practical application, and English enhancement, improving students' emergency response capabilities while strengthening their medical English proficiency and preparing them for future clinical practice and international professional environments.
