
一、活動重點及目的:
本次講座特別邀請中興大學機械工程學系陳任之教授,分享其於工程領域推動雙語教學之實務經驗,促進本校教師對EMI課程設計與教學實踐之理解。隨著高等教育國際化趨勢日益明確,如何在專業課程中有效融入英語教學,已成為提升學生國際競爭力的重要課題。本次講座以中興大學工學院推動雙語教學之成果為核心,說明其在土木工程、環境工程及機械工程等學系累積EMI必修課程學分的發展歷程,並探討制度面與課程面之整體規劃。透過本次活動,期能協助本校教師掌握雙語教學推動之關鍵策略,強化課程設計能力,並促進EMI教學品質之提升,進而打造更具國際化與專業整合之學習環境。
We specially invited Professor Ren-Chih Chen from the Department of Mechanical Engineering at National Chung Hsing University to share his practical experience in promoting bilingual education within the field of engineering, with the aim of enhancing faculty members’ understanding of EMI course design and teaching practices. As the trend of internationalization in higher education continues to grow, effectively integrating English into discipline-specific courses has become a key factor in enhancing students’ global competitiveness. This lecture focused on the achievements of the College of Engineering at National Chung Hsing University in implementing bilingual education, outlining the development process of EMI required courses across departments such as Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, and Mechanical Engineering, and discussing both institutional and curricular planning. Through this event, it is expected that faculty members will gain insights into key strategies for promoting bilingual education, strengthen their course design capabilities, and enhance the quality of EMI instruction, thereby fostering a more internationalized and professionally integrated learning environment.

本次講座以實務經驗分享為主軸,內容具體且具系統性,充分展現中興大學工學院推動雙語教學之完整架構。陳教授於演講中詳細介紹院級推動小組之組成與運作模式,說明如何透過跨系協作有效整合資源,並建立課程盤點機制,以逐步擴展EMI課程的覆蓋範圍。此外,亦分享工程英文配套課程之規劃策略,協助學生銜接專業知識與英語能力,提升學習成效。在教學實務方面,講者進一步說明其於EMI課程中的教學設計、課堂互動方式及評量策略,提供具體可行的教學方法,讓與會教師能即時應用於自身課堂。活動現場交流熱絡,教師踴躍提問,針對推動困境與實務操作進行深入討論,充分達到經驗交流與專業成長之目的。
This lecture centered on practical experience sharing, with content that was both concrete and systematic, fully demonstrating the comprehensive framework adopted by the College of Engineering at National Chung Hsing University in promoting bilingual education. During the session, Professor Chen provided a detailed introduction to the structure and operation of the college-level task force, explaining how cross-departmental collaboration can effectively integrate resources and establish a course inventory mechanism to gradually expand the scope of EMI courses. In addition, he shared strategies for designing supporting courses in technical English, helping students bridge their professional knowledge with English proficiency and thereby improve learning outcomes. In terms of teaching practice, the speaker further elaborated on his EMI course design, classroom interaction methods, and assessment strategies, offering practical and applicable teaching approaches that participants could readily implement in their own classrooms. The session also featured active engagement and lively discussions, with faculty members enthusiastically raising questions and exchanging ideas on implementation challenges and practical solutions, successfully achieving the goals of experience sharing and professional development.
