本次講座旨在協助教師深入了解 EMI課程的教學成效與永續發展方向。透過鍾教授分享自身開設的課程在中英授課下的差異、學生學習數據與評量結果,協助教師掌握 EMI 教學在實務中的挑戰、成效與未來發展可能,並引導教師思考如何將教學研究結合 EMI 課程進行發表。
This lecture aimed to help faculty gain an in-depth understanding of the learning outcomes and sustainable development of EMI courses. Through Professor Chung’s sharing of his course taught in both Chinese and English, along with analyses of student learning data and course evaluation results, the session assisted teachers in grasping the practical challenges, effectiveness, and future possibilities of EMI instruction. It also encouraged faculty to consider how teaching research can be integrated into EMI courses for academic dissemination.

本場講座由淡江大學運輸管理學系鍾智林教授主講,鍾教授以其開設的國考科目「運輸工程」為例,比較中文班與英文班在學習成效上的差異,並運用數位教學平台的學生學習行為數據及歷年 EMI 課程評量資料,全面檢視學生的學習模式與對 EMI 的量化及質性回饋。講座內容扎實,教授同時提出 EMI 永續推動的四項新思維,提供教師具體可行的策略。鍾教授具備 14 年、52 班次的 EMI 教學經驗,並參與 17 項教學實踐研究計畫,分享內容實務性高,現場互動良好,達到推動 EMI 教學與研究結合的目的。
The lecture was delivered by Professor Chih-Lin Chung from the Department of Transportation Management at Tamkang University. Using his national examination course, “Transportation Engineering,” as an example, Professor Chung compared the learning outcomes between Chinese-taught and English-taught classes. He further utilized student learning behavior data from the digital teaching platform and past EMI course evaluations to provide a comprehensive analysis of students’ learning patterns, as well as their quantitative and qualitative feedback on EMI.
The content was substantial and practical, with Professor Chung presenting four new perspectives for the sustainable development of EMI, offering concrete and actionable strategies for faculty. With 14 years of EMI teaching experience across 52 classes and participation in 17 teaching practice research projects, Professor Chung provided highly applicable insights. The session featured active interaction and successfully achieved its goal of promoting the integration of EMI teaching and educational research.
